TSC April 13 2011 update, the Project comes to a Close

April 29th, 2011

Greetings to the Cast, Crew, families, audience and supporters of TSC,

TSC: Blood and Fire is a Wrap.  The Sentinel Chronicles has come to a close.

As I draft this final update I am engaged in the recovery efforts from the last two weekends of filming.  This is a bitter sweet moment as TSC has been going for nearly 48 months now.  It has seen many friendships made and has seen some go. All in all it has been a grand experiment in the art form.  I am no longer sure of the number of folks who came out to be a part of this project.  When it started hardly anyone had heard of the concept of a web series let alone a sci fi action adventure one. We are a part of a brave new pioneering effort to take creativity way from corporate control and put in the hands of the dreamers.  To everyone from the first frame of the Assassin 2019 to the last scene on  TSC: Blood and Fire to be cliche we have boldly gone where no one has gone before.  It may not have started as the most polished or even understandable story but we helped start a revolution in indie film making in Atlanta and the South East.  When Season One premiered we were the only web series in production in the region, now there are more than 30 at last count.

Important Info

IMDB Credit

Seasons One and Two have undergone a “re-edit”  as many of you may know.  Though IMDB recognizes the web series as a creditable form it still has very rigid submission standards- and we do not met them.  However by doing the edit and converting Season One and Two into “extended short films” they have met the entry requirements of the Filmdemic  Film Festival.   Thus the “coveted” IMDB credit will be secured.  Due to the fact that my internet connection “fluctuates” the online upload is out of the question and I sent the copies today.   Should take around a month or so to get the online confirmation.

Final Copy of the Project

It is my intention to to release as I have said all of TSC at once in one large “collectors” edition stylized packaging.  It will include outtakes, behind the scenes photos, production stills, interviews and commentaries as well as several other goodies.  This along with the individual projects will available for purchase through Amazon and other online sources.  The final copy of the project will be presented at grand finale party to be sometime  in the mid to late Autumn of this year  and will be presented to all of the cast and crew of the TSC project.

Abstracts and Statistics
As many of you have come to realize I do enjoy rambling off a good batch of numbers and statistics.  This update will be no different but I will limit it to the bottom line.   TSC has grown and continues to grow.  My hope is that even though the earlier work remains at least at glance the most popular that we will grow into the ambitions I have had all along that is: A.) to be an internet cult classic and B.) to eventually garner the attention of somebody somewhere who might think this a worthy project of picking  up and putting some actual money behind.  In regards to A we are growing and to B well we all have a dream and that was just a small part of mine.  Last month saw a huge jump in our internet wide numbers by almost 2 to 1 (from around 5000 to nearly 10, 000) in regards to traffic to our videos, website and face book page.  I find this to be an amazing achievement for an underfunded and un-promoted project.  Since we began we have accumulated somewhere in the neighborhood of 30,000 views for 31 videos including teasers, trailers, promos and full episodes.   The exciting thing is this that with the power of the internet our work has been seen in nearly 60 countries and in almost every state in the union.  Again this not bad given what we had at our disposal to make this project.  We have been cross pollinated onto several different video hosting sites and and can be downloaded on iTunes.  So at the end of the day I can comfortably say we did something and not have to lie with statistics to help me sleep.  Remember this is a group effort so encourage your fans, family and supporters to watch and like our work.  The more interest we generate the bigger we grow.  The philosophy of the web series and indie film making isn’t about it making you famous but about the team making our work famous.  That concludes my speech about numbers and our success.

The break down on our First”s and our Achievements
Lets see, fun stuff first-

*We were the first project bold enough to attempt the sic-fi action adventure genre.
*I have yet to see another project do a cannibal scene or sneak in a gratuitous decapitation every chance it got.
*We were the first web-series (at the time Nov. 2009) to be aired on local television.

* During this project we got to shoot someone with a crossbow, set off nuclear weapons, beat a few people with a baseball bat, have guts slide out, fry the neural pathways of the brain, destroy a space station, pretty much turn the earth into a smoldering waste land and colonize the stars.  Not bad for the last four years..

* We were the first Atlanta based Sci Fi project to be listed on the internet’s number one resource for web based sci fi content scifinal.com

Ok other odds and ends.

When completed TSC will include over 7 hours of content to include episodes, shorts, extended shorts, a feature length film, interviews, commentaries and behind the scenes footage.

I lost count but  I can say with some certainty that we have somewhere around 100 folks took part in this pioneering endeavor .  For a lot of up and coming actors this was a place to catch their first IMDB’s and also a chance to work on a project of this size.  Most Indie producers aren’t dumb enough to try and shoot projects with 25 plus people on the cast and crew.  In many ways we became a family.  For me it expanded the number of folks I call TRUE friends.

Next Item up for bids

Season 2, Architiects and Math are in broadcast rotation in Ohio and New York on  local cable systems.  I am sure that TSC is not as unheard of as we think it is.  On several occasions I have met and talked with people about the project.  So it is making an impact and thats all thanks to the hard work and dedication we have put in to this.

Demos and Copies of the Footage
( Read carefully so that there is no misunderstanding)

Demos-
To all of the cast of TSC I am offering at no cost to you (other than the raw materials- a spindle of DVD’s and lables) an actors demo reel.  There are some restrictions on availability for this service:  That would be if you spent less than two days on set with the project.  Other than that all I ask is that you bring the footage you wish to use.  Spend the time telling me exactly what you want done and to enjoy a good meal with me while we complete the work. I will not edit somebody else’s work.  All scenes will remain intact.  Likewise I will not bump incomplete footage from either Blood and Fire or Green Winter that is not complete to fill out the demo.  You will need at least 8-10 photos from your latest Head Shot session.  This is a 4-6 hour process as I want to give you exactly what you want.  So don’t expect to swing by and drop off a spindle of DVD’s and a pack of labels with the intent to return at your leisure expecting a final product.  To do so leaves thing to my intrpretation and will result in wasted time and DVD’s so why not sit down ejoy the time and help me create for you a very elegant, simplistic and valuable promotional tool for yourself.   The demo is about you and your talent not about how flashy the menu is.  So with that said feel free to contact me to arrange an appointment.

Footage

As noted above I will not release incomplete footage under any circumstances.  If however you want use completed work for use on a Demo that we are making that is fine.  Likewise I will also make the footage available if you want use another provider for your demo reel.  Again, if the footage is not done – the answer is NO.

TSC3: Green Winter Update

Though my attention as been focused on Blood and Fire I am again returning to work in short order to complete the first cut of Green Winter by May 1.  I anticipate the final cut will be available sometime in early June and will be submitted to The Terror Film Fest in Philadelphia set for screening in October and the Fantastic Planet Film Fest in Sydney, Australia set for screening April of 2012.

I am currently on the last few scenes of Act III which puts me a stones throw from completion.  Once Green Winter is complete there will be a screening and it will be provided as exclusive content to VBCtv in episodic format.

The latest tease/ sneak peek can be seen on facebook on the TSC fan page

The End of the Line

TSC:Blood and Fire

Or as it was called previously “Pi”  is now in the can and will begin post production in June and is expected to be completed in September. Once Completed it too will be submitted to a number of different genre based film festivals for the 2012 season.  This is last story to be told in the existing TSC story arc.  Of the entire project with a few small exceptions this was the best written and best organized project to date. Other than some slow execution at times and the complete re-thinking of how to shoot the final scenes on the 5th and final of production we had a great time and everybody did an amazing job.  My effort to focus more on directing, the story and the characters was  my main objective.  Of the franchise this will be the first that relies less on effects and more on the story and we achieved that. However it does not take out or stylized use of gratuitous violence.   To everybody who bleed, sweat and shed precious metals on this project I can’t stress enough what amazing job.

Way to send this project of into history books..

The Future

As some of you may know I have planned now for sometime to throw in the sponge and return to Indiana.  To take a hiatus from film making and regroup.  I am however after this last project reconsidering my thoughts on this.  Shawn, the projects new lead writer and I have begun developing concepts for 3 short projects and a 10 Episode series entitled “Home World” .  All of these projects are within the TSC Universe but set at incremental points in timeline with Home World set about 100 years after Green Winter.

I will of course ask all of you either to reprise your existing role, make a cameo or if possible cast you as a whole new character.

For future reference I will no longer send out a mass email updates with exception of the projects that are in production/ post production. I will post a notification to facebook and post a link to the TSC site.

So that does it, that’s my final long winded speech (well to some of you) to be received in your in-boxes.

I will hold all individual accolades until our Grand Finale Premiere Party this Fall.

I would like to say this though to each of you has helped me to live out a dream, from intern to Assistant Director, from Wardrobe and Prop Mistress to Production Designer, from the Cadaver Extra to the Leads I humbly thank you all and deeply appreciate every once of sweat and every second you spent on this 4 year journey.

If any of you need anything and it is my power and with in reason I will happily give it to you.

I wish you all the very best and hope to see you around.  I look forward to getting together one last time to raise a toast,  to share a laugh and relive fond memories.

We started this project with a clear vision of what we were trying to do 1.) Do something that had never been done before, 2.) To gain exposure for everybody who worked on the project and 3.)  To tell a story.

Mission Accomplished

At the end of it I was previleged enough to get the opportunity to work some Atlanta’s and the South East’s finest acting, production and creative talent.  With many of you I have forged cherished life long friendships.  You will always be the best part of me.

Destination:  3 stars to the left and straight on til morning.  Off to the Undiscovered Country.

TSC Update- Feb 23 2011

February 28th, 2011

Greeting Everyone!

Been some time since I last updated everyone on the project.  So let get to it.

TSC as a Whole

I will start by saying the project continues to grow, its gaining more subscribers to the Youtube page, fans on the facebook page and members to the website forums.  Our web views not just in regards to our videos but also the website, fan page and so forth on average are generating nearly a hundred pings ( I mean visits, views, searches and so forth).  And alot of you are catching individual attention through the website.  Yes, I can even track that.  As it stands TSC is more popular now than it has ever been.

With the old videos being “syndicated” through vbctv.com and the new stuff being dsitributed through i-tunes and about ten other sources our visibility has increased a great deal.

TSC Seasons One and Two

The first two seasons have been “re-edited” into short films and are in the process of submission to the Filmdemic Online Film Festival. Thus it will finally get  us IMDB credit for these projects.  They have also been renamed The Sentinel Chronicles :Origins and TSC 2.0.

Though I have previously released (albeit some way behind schedule) DVD’s of the project this is going to stop unless I am specifically asked for an episode or season.  It has been decided that once TSC 3 and the upcoming TSc:Pi are completed that all of the TSC films and episodes witl be bound in a a box set and presented at a farewell get together which we anticipate will be held in the fall as a kick off to next project that I will mention below.

TSC 3: Green Winter

As many of you know Green Winter is the largest and most complex of all of the series.  In its first rough edit its wll over an hour and twenty minutes in length.  The first Act alone is longer the entire duration of Architects of Fear including the end credits.  This thing is by all rights a monster.  Though I am going to a degree in linear fashion with the second edit  Act I still remains the most complex and difficult of the project.  Honestly, I don’t think there has been an entire scene without the use of cgi or other special visual effects to help with the look and feel of things.  I have built from digital exteriors to hanging light bulbs.  Many of you have seen some of the latest work regardless the stylization they are still some the finest visual effects being created in the Atlanta Indie community today not to mention the acting and the action.  When we completed Architects everything had finally caught up and was on the same plane.  TSC 3 takes things one step beyond.

If you have not already seen the latest teaser please take the minute and twenty seconds to do so.  The link is below

Green Winter teaser

I am shooting for a May 1 completion date and intend to submit as feature to a few film fests.

TSC:PI

Though TSC:Green Winter has had me overwhelmed as have certain aspects of my personal and professional life its been decided to launch this last installment of TSC in this story arc.  What should amount to about a 20 minute short and will tidy up and answer some questions from Green Winter and then ask many more so we have a place to start the future.  Its roughly on par with Architects in many aspects such as story scope and production.  We started pre-production yesterday and will shoot in early April.  Completion is set for late summer 2011.

TSC the next Evolution

Many of you voiced concern that with the completion of Green Winter and that your characters had been left for dead or were in fact killed off.  Though to a great degree this story arc was linear in its production, future TSC episodes are not necessarily gong to be written and planned that way.  So nobody is dead and I will see everyone again ( depending on the plans of the writers I just don’t know what they are yet). In addition I invite everyone who is interested in writing an episode even if it centers around your character to submit it for consideration.

Many changes will be made for this next incarnation of Atlanta’s first indie Sci- Fi Web Saga.  We expect to begin production in the Mid Fall of 2011 on this next project.

Alright well that does it for now.  Again thank you everybody its been an honor working with all of you and for many a privilege to have become your friend. My very best wishes to you and your families.

Stay tuned for more teasers and trailers.  If anyone needs any footage from the project let me know.

That’s all for now.

Shoot, Move and Communicate.

TSC 2010 Year End Update and Review

January 10th, 2011

First off let me wish everyone and their families the very best for a happy, healthy and productive New Year.  I will avoid any further cliche bombardment beyond that.

Now down to business.  I want share with all of you the good, the bad and ugly of the last year.  After we revisit the past we will cast a weather eye to the future.

* I promise that in the future there will be no more long winded updates.

However for those who either don’t read my long winded and wordy updates I will provide a summary below and then get to the guts of my reflections.

TSC 2010 reflections (Summarized)

TSC 2.0
The final two episodes demostrated some the very best and very worst of the TSC has to offer.

TSC: Architects of Fear/Math-2.5
Architects as a short film marked the transition of TSC from a web-series to an episodic film saga.  With this project and the smaller Math project TSC has become a truly respectable and watchable show.  The project has now begun to make money and has the potential to really go somewhere.  Architects secured TSC its first IMDB credit and was screened at the Warsaw International Film Fest.

TSC 3 Green Winter
Is still in post production and will be finished when its ready.  It is larger, more complex and more difficult than any other project I have ever worked on.  The first set of production days were marred by a series of issues and failures for which I accept responsibility.  However not all of the shortcomings are my cross to bare.  As a result of the “failures and successes” of TSC 3 many things are being changed.  Some have already become visible others are still forthcoming.

TSC:Pi
Script and Pre-Production still being developed.  Please Stay Tuned.

Facebook and The Website
Both of these assets were added in the last half of the year and have been huge weapons in the promotion arsenal of the project.

Promotion, Proliferation and Exposure
With the multi pronged web campaigns, improved quality product and the dedicated efforts of everyone involved with the project we have seen a huge growth in the overall reception of the project. There are plans to take things in different and interesting directions.  We have been “syndicated” to an online video VBCtv and we are listed on Scifinal.com the internet’s premiere online source for web based si fi.

Parting Thoughts
I am very pleased by how the year as whole has turned out.  I am however disappointed in certain aspects of the project but these things are to be expected.  As the producer I accept the failures as my own and share the success with all of you as it isn’t mine alone to claim. I am honored and humbled by the opportunity I have had to work with each of you and look forward to the future.

The detailed report

TSC 2.0
We began the year by releasing the final episodes of our second season.  Those two episodes (ep 4 “The Commander” and ep 5 “Who am I?”)   demonstrated some our very best and some of our worst examples of the project.  Episode 4 from a purely story stand point was one of if not the deepest film making and story telling attempts of the project and my career.  The acting, direction and overall quality was an example of getting everything right.  It will always be one of my favorites and one of our proudest achievements.  Episode 5 was an attempt for the project to be clever and show an evolution in our style.  Though many of the individual details of 5 were displays of our combined mastery it failed in the story telling aspect.  Instead of leaving the audience scratching their heads by the huge plot twist they were left more with the feeling of “I have no idea what I just watched”.  As with every aspect of the project being the producer I accept responsibility for the flaws in the execution.  Honestly, I was attempting something which was new territory (as was the case with much of the project) sometimes you win sometimes you lose.  Sometimes no matter how well (or how poorly) you plan things just don’t work.  Overall though I feel that TSC 2.0 was successful from the standpoint of being able to tell a story and have it understood by the audience it was not the epic masterpiece I had set out for.  I am fond of saying though TSC 2.0 was boring, it was the next evolution of the project and myself as a film maker.  It was the transition of the project, we brought in folks to help out on many aspects that were flawed in the first season but it led to improvements across the board.

TSC 2.0 had very specific goals laid down when we started pre-production.  Those goals were to improve the overall quality of the project, increase our audience/subscriber base and to boldly take the project where it had yet to go.  In every way these goals were realized and achieved.  Though comparatively speaking TSC 2.0 has not had the success that the first season has sustained it marked a change in the doctrine of TSC as a whole.  Though 2.0 has lagged behind (thus far in views) it fulfills some very important background material for the audience to become engrossed in as the story and project expands.  Unfortunately TSC 2.0 with its doctrinal shift altered the project from being solely a “web series” to a mixed concept (short films and web based series).

TSC: Architects of Fear/2.5

Architects was in early post-production a year ago and though I/we didn’t know it at the time it would become the best project to come out of the TSC thus far.  The vision was that it would be a stand alone, short film/mini-series “franchise” project.  After nearly 4 months of post production we had the final cut.  It was completed just in time to meet the submission deadline for the Dragon-Con Independent Film Festival.  Though it wasn’t accepted into the competition it did create the “coveted”  IMDB credit “legitimizing” the project.  In addition Architects received international attention by the mention at the Warsaw International Film Fest.  Architects reinforced the shift in the project as a whole.  TSC was no longer a web series it was becoming an episodic film saga.

If I had set the life goal for myself to produce a short film that was a respectable body of work I could cross that off the list with no second thoughts.  However I want more!

Architects is to TSC 2.0 what 2.0 was to the first season- a huge leap in every way.  There is no turning back and the project is only getting bigger and better.

Though it was intended to be a “mini-series”  the edit didn’t play well to that that prospect.  I see it as additional content for our growing audience to immerse themselves and become engrossed with the rich story that is TSC.

TSC:Math/2.5

The mini season that was meant to be additional content and a means of strengthening the project overall with 3 episodes only produced one installment.  However that installment was a stern warning of things to come.  It marked another advancement in many ways to the viability of the project.  With the exception of Architects it is the best work that has come out of the TSC project.

TSC 2.5 (Math and Architects broken up into online episodes) along with the additional efforts(facebook and the website) has made 2.5 our most successful TSC “Season” to date.

This season also marked our move from youtube to bliptv were we are generating revenue for the project.

TSC 3: Green Winter

TSC 3 was/is the most ambition, costly and complex project yet endeavored in the project.  There were many problems and success in the production of this installment.  It reinforced a clear need for a shift in the control of the project and the means in which it is executed from pre-production to post production.  Having completed what is now the 9th day of production last month (Dec. 5th) we have filmed well over 12 hours of footage.  Though effects and action driven it is still very rooted in story.  A lot of the post production has been completed but there is still much work to be completed.

Bottom line on the completion of the project is simply this – it will be done when it is done.  I am in no hurry and am very intent on getting it done right.  When its completed it will be a testament to all of our dedication, commitment and talent we have brought to the project.  As a final note on completion expect another 90 to 120 days before the final cut will be ready.  After all its a full length feature film, nearly 90 minutes in duration.  Once it has been submitted to a select few genre based film fests, screened by the cast and crew, listed on IMDB and shopped as a pilot concept to a network will it be released as episodes.

Facebook and the Website

The facebook fan page and the website have been a huge asset in getting the project out there.  The fan page went up in late July just prior to the primary production of TSC 3 and starting out it the going was slow there were “likes” and “unlikes”. During the month of September it appeared that things had bottomed out in regards to public reception of the fb fan page.  However towards the end of September something happened.  That something was a steady and continued increase in likes and interaction.  Since the fan page was launched it has doubled in the number of likes and continues to soldier on.

The website has been a long time coming and as I am fond of saying Rome was not built in a day.  The website is a huge asset to the project.  It is an absolutely amazing resource not only for the audience but to all of us involved with the project. It is slick and elegant in its design and is a very engaging for the viewer.

The website, Facebook fan page and TSC 2.5 in addition to the directed efforts of myself and others  (each of you in your own ways)  have helped to promote the project.  The last two months have seen some truly remarkable growth in the project.   We have respectable content for our viewers, we have a dedicated promotional campaign in place and two very powerful resources to continue to push our work.

TSC: Pi

Pi is in its early pre-production phases.  The script still needs to be cleaned up and completed before we can pursue further pre-production.  We are currently evaluating alternate methods of financing and searching for additional production staff to help create this project.

TSC:Pi will be the final installment of the current linear story line of the project.  Like Architects it will be a short film but will broken up as additional content for our audience.  it will also be submitted to film fests and an IMDB credited project.

Stay tuned for further updates.

Promotion, Proliferation and Exposure

Promotion of the project continues to improve, expand and evolve.  Ultimately its all of our efforts that makes the project more visible and more successful so continue what you are doing.  We recently have been “syndicated” to an online video network VBCtv.  We are also included on the internet’s premiere online listing for web based sci- fi – scifinal.com.  We are also planning on doing some good old fashioned flesh pressing  and face to face promoting at various conventions and science fiction functions to build support and interest in the project.

My parting thoughts

To everyone thank you for your hard work and dedication.  I am proud and honored to have spent the last year working with all of you and the project as a whole. We have had our ups and downs.  We have seen some folks leave the project in order to sustain its integrity.  I wish them the very best and harbor no ill will.  Changes are coming.  Some of those changes may not be “friendly” or painless but the are being made to improve and proliferate the success of the project as whole.  Things have definitely gotten real, the future is about creating consumable content, executing production in a professional manner befitting the project and all of those involved.  Finally, ensuring that the investment that we make to the project is worth the return we receive.  All of these issues will be addressed in next update.

That’s all for now.

Shoot, Move and Communicate.

TSC 3 Post Production and final thoughts

January 1st, 2011

Greetings Everyone!

I want to start off by thanking everyone for an absolutely amazing job that you did not only last weekend but through out the entire production. The extremes of heat, cold, organization and utter chaos are quite familiar to many who have spent the last 3 years working on this project with me.  I can’t say how much it means to me to have had the privilege to have worked with each and every one of you over that time span.  With the exception of a few very small pieces of footage this project is complete,TSC 3 that is.  For me I doubt I will ever “finish” work on TSC.  For now though it is safe to say that the basic story arc is told.  I want to complete this story with a final short film in the spring.  I have mentioned infrequently in my production/post-production updates and to many of you personally that your character will have a role to play in it.  I am currently awaiting the final story draft and the early script before I peruse further commitments on your part.  It will be an exhaustive 6 week(ends) production (of course you all know that I will schedule so that you will not be required all 6 weekends).  For now though I want to again thank everyone for your dedication and loyalty to the project.  I took a little bit of time off last week to reflect on what it is we have done and gauge the direction I want to take with things after the next project is completed.  I feel that with the volume of interest that many of you have helped to bring to TSC and with the vastly improved production and story values of the project that its only a matter of time before we begin attracting the attention of a wider science fiction audience.  On that note I had mentioned to many of you who were present last weekend that we had already been approached by an online network seeking to archive the existing content and that they want to include us in their line up of online content.  So I see that as the first step to the ultimate goal of being cult classic online sci fi project.

Now that TSC 3 has wrapped in terms of production it needs to be given a little perspective. nearly 12 hours of raw footage was shot, as to numbers of cast, wardrobe, production and complication its the largest and most expensive project I myself have ever endeavored.  Though the final cut will be broken up after it is premiered and submitted to film fests and other places as a concept pilot for broadcast tv it was never intended to be a “web series”.  It was intended to be a feature/pilot concept.  It will be add to the existing content that is the Sentinel Universe that we have all helped to create.  Once I complete the last and final chapter of this story arc I intend to revisit the the web series concept.  With the diverse and rich characters of the linear story we have forged we can now focus in more directly on individual stories and characters in-depth.

With projected completion still several months away I release trailers/teasers to maintain the interest that we have gathered thus far.  We need to continue to use both the facebook fan page and the website as a means of not only promoting the project but also ourselves.  So log on and join the site, comment on the discussion thread ( I may be asking some of you to host a discussion so be ready), its all about building a bigger better project so that every aspect gets carried tot he next level most importantly you so use the tools at you disposal.

I close with best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and the very best wishes for a prosperous new year.

As a final request please email a physical address to where Delinda and I can mail you guys a token of our appreciation and holiday cheer.

Again Thank You All and Job Well Done!

Shoot, Move and Communicate!

November 10th, 2010

Hello Everybody! Just a quick update of things! TSC 3 Production & Post Production Production has resumed on TSC 3 and I will be seeing many of you shortly. Be sure to keep us up to date on schedule changes and availability We picked up last weekend with a quick shoot that worked out great. Thank you to Larry and Brian for an amazing set. Post Production continues at a steady clip with nearly 3/4 of the base (rough edit) complete. After we finish up filming and get those scenes added in the push will be to finish the edit and move the project into the final round of effects and assembly. Again I am not setting a completion date but late February or early March would be a good idea of what I am thinking. TSC 2.5/ Architects of Fear Season 2.5 kicked off nearly 2 weeks ago and has been doing quite well in its first ten days on the web. The initial numbers are encouraging and hopefully they will continue to climb and match those of the two previous seasons. We will e releasing the next episode on Sunday the 14th of November so be sure to tune in and show your support. The TSC Website I want thank everyone for stopping by and checking out the awesome job that Rob Berris did putting together the site. It is a wonderful promotional tool for not just the project but you as well. So join the site share your thoughts on the forum discussions and begin connecting with the fans. I want to thank everyone for taking the time send over their Bio’s and Photos and thank those of you who have already joined the site. Site cross promotion/cross pollination if you own or operate a site of your own or would like to submit one and will do the same for TSC on yours then shoot me a link in your reply – the links page is under construction. TSC: Pi Update As many of you know the next project is in the works. Production is set from March to April. Rehearsals and pre-production will begin in February. I will be contacting you very soon about casting for this project and reviewing the story (which is now written). That’s all for now! Shoot, Move and Communicate!

Chapter 1: The Mission is now online and can be seen at our new online video hosting site Biptv.  (Link below)

http://thesentinelchronicles.blip.tv/

So far our in regards to our  latest season things are moving along nicely.  Our project has never been designed to be a viral video concept.  We are however counting clicks and for the first time in our history have begun generating revenue.  Another piece of TSC info to pass along is this – we have now logged well over 13000 track-able views on the majority of the internet’s video hosting sites (this figure does not include mirrored views or downloads and re-posts of our work).  So with that many clicks and views in over 50 countries  I will have to consider what we have done a success to say the least.  Again thanks to all of you for helping to make this project what it has become and for promoting it.

TSC 3 Update

Editing on our latest project continues and this weekend marks the return to production.  There are several filming dates up ahead so be sure to check your email and also stay tuned to the site – thats one of the reasons why  we built it.   Still projecting a Spring 2011 completion date.

Weekly Update Oct 31 2010

October 31st, 2010

Hello Everybody!

Join the ISA!

Happy Halloween and again its time to release the yearly kick off our latest work.  TSC 2.5 is a reconstituted 4 part miniseries created from the short film Architects of Fear (which was a 2010 Dragon Con submission) and the stand alone project “Math”.  Though the two separate projects are mutually supporting in the story arc of TSC they are a good way for new viewers to become engrossed in the larger TSC universe.  Most of you have previously seen these releases on facebook.  I encourage all of you to again watch them on our new home and to share and promote them along with the soon to be completed TSC website.  So tune in to the link(s) below share it far and wide and also download it on iTunes (the links are below).

In closing I want thank everyone who worked both behind and in front of the camera to bring these projects to life. These projects have finally brought together every aspect of the vision that I had 3 years ago when I began this project.  I want to say that every thing has finally been realized, the look, the effects, the story, the acting  are all there.  Many of you have honored me from the humble begins and encouraged me to continue and now we have something that is truly worth our pride and our efforts.  Again thank you everybody for your faith and your dedicated talent without these invaluable commodities these projects would have been stop motion.

Also we have now migrated to our new online home where views mean revenue..It won’t make us rich but the cash can be put towards ads on facebook to build our popularity.  So help the project promote you.

Greetings Everyone!

TSC 3 Post Production and Re-shoot Update

Things are moving along in the post production arena and I am maintaining a steady work flow in regards to completing the project.  With the need for additional/re-shoot scenes I am projecting completion sometime in late February early March.  Again I can’t stress how pleased I am overall with the look and the performances you guys brought to this project.  Thanks and really spectacular job.

I will be sending out the script and shooting details later in the week.  So be sure to check you in-boxes and confirm with me so I can avoid any confusion.

Website and TSC 2.5

Work on the website is ongoing and the majority of the data has been complied and we are set to launch both the website and Season 2.5 on Halloween.  So be sure to bookmark it in your browser and utilize it as a promotional tool for yourselves and the project.

Other TSC Related Info

I intend on finishing up a few things later in the fall to finally get Seasons 1 and 2 their IMDB credit.  Currently I am looking for a means to “box set” the first two seasons and all of the smaller related projects into one package that will be presented at our yearly screening (which I anticipate will be in late January early February).  So iron your finest and get ready to party!

TSC: Pi (3.14)

The official announcement for TSC:Pi will be coming very soon.  I have already approached several of the primary talent and am working to get the story and script worked out.  The projected time frame for filming will from mid-March to mid-April.  My game plan is to have production start on the heels of TSC:3′s completion.  Rehearsals and meetings should be expected to begin in early February for cast and crew.  Story and script should be completed be late December early January.

Well, that does it for this round!

October 14th, 2010

Greetings Everyone!

Latest News on TSC

TSC’s New Home

For those of you following the latest news, TSC has migrated and settled into its new online video hosting home over at thesentinelchronicles.blip.tv.  Over the years several of you have offered up suggestions on how to generate revenue through our online views.  After several attempts at trying to convince the guys at youtube to support us in this endeavor I have given up.  How are we going to achieve an overwhelming subscriber base and rack up the views with out a little help from their “marketing” department?  Answer is – we can’t.  Youube just isn’t set up to help the small guy break barriers or generate that illusive online cash flow offered to the bigger players on the market.  So as of the 5th of October that quest came to a close.  Not only has TSC got a new home but it has also began making money. Nothing to right home about as of yet but its a start.

Production Info for TSC 3 (ROUND 2)

Alright folks we all knew that is was coming and that I had given a general date(s) for these add-on/pick-up/make-up and re-shoots for the project.  As of Nov. 7 we begin the second round of production to complete this project.  Based on scheduling I think that Saturday evenings and Sunday’s will be our time to work.  I have reached out previously to many of you to give you the heads up on when I planned to do this round of shooting. Again, very  important to the completion of the project and equally important is not to conflict with other projects you guys are working on, the quality time you all deserve with your families and downtime you all need-PLEASE update me as to availability for Saturday and Sunday’s from mid November to mid December.  During these sets we will also be doing work on the comedy sketches  and fake commercials for the final dvd of the project.  My goal is to get the TSC stuff completed and spend the rest of the time having fun with these ideas.  I had asked everyone to shoot me your thoughts on some commercials and that I would produce them.  No idea will be turned away, first come, first filmed is the order of business on these guys.  I will be emailing all of those required for this round of production individually so be sure to check your in boxes and update me ASAP!

TSC Website (or Very soon thesentinelchronicles.com)

The long awaited and much anticipated dedicated website for the project is now in full scale production.  We  intend (well as near as we can) to launch it simultaneously with Season 2.5 on the Oct. 31st.  I am still awaiting bios and high resolution images from many of you.  There has been some degree of confusion on this request.  I am not seeking for a long winded from birth up until what you had for lunch today detailed epitaph.  What I want is simply a 3 to 5 sentence paragraph on yourself.  The more humorous and light hearted in nature the better.  Also please feel free to add any thoughts you have on your character, the project and of course on writing a bio.  The deadline for this is tomorrow.  I need to have this data to Robert Berris our web developer/,marketing consultant and emu wrangler so that it can be plugged into the site.  Its yet another tool you can utilize to promote yourself in the future.  So please help me help you, thanks.  The first round of folks have been contacted and will be contacted AGAIN as a reminder and then I will gather the remaining cast and crew to finish the site by the first of the year.  So if you haven’t been notified yet don’t worry your turn is coming.  To sum this up we will have dedicated website for all things Sentinel,  it will include many unique and interesting features to help spread the fan base and build audience interaction.  So get ready for a whole new level of things to come.  As a final note thanks to everyone who has gotten me their bios.

Post Production News

TSC 3 is now moving along nicely and I have begun the work on the fine edit for Act 3 of this project.  Thus far i am pleased with how things are coming together and the overall look and feel.  On so many levels this project is a completely different animal in comparison not just to the earlier seasons/projects in its complexity- it is very story driven and dialog heavy relying on the acting of the cast to really push the project through.  I still find myself impressed (even after having worked with many of you for so long and the hours of repeatedly watching the footage) with the performances that all of you have brought to the project.  Once I finish up with the edit I will be moving through the myriad of special effects that will balance out our work and complete the project.  I will continue to release teasers and trailers to help build the buzz on our project.  I will not commit to a release date at this time other than to say that expect it sometime in early 2011.

TSC PI (or 3.14)

It is my hope that in mid spring we can begin production on the next project.  I anticipate shooting sometime between late Feb and early April ( due to weather – not too hot and not too cold – the Goldilocks Zone).  The story is being formulated and I will be contacting many of you to work on this one and can’t wait.  So get ready to bring the pain! Naw. just kidding but it will be bit different than previous projects in its storyline and production.  The final product will be modeled after Architects as a short film that will be broken up into a miniseries linking season 3 to season 4.

Final Note

The date and location of our yearly get together has yet to be announced/determined..  Once we figure it out plan on attending a night of indy cinema at its finest as Tom and I will be premiering our latest work, passing out awards and memorabilia and throwing down.  See you all there if I don’t see you on set.

Thanks again everybody.!
